ExoGun DreamPro Review: The Good, The Bad and The Alternatives

The ExoGun DreamPro is a percussive massage gun and a popular alternative to devices like the HyperVolt - its cheaper yet still comes with most of the same features.

In fact, it's one of many similar massage guns on the market, including the Theragun, the KraftGun, and our very own AlphaGun.

At $199 the ExoGun is a low-price alternative to more expensive massagers, but it's not alone.  Other devices that have the same power and functionality are currently on sale lower prices, so now is a good time to get a bargain.

In this ExoGun DreamPro review, I'm going to cover:

1. What the features of the ExoGun DreamPro are
2. What's good about the ExoGun
3. What's bad about it
4. Finally how it compares to alternatives including the AlphaGun, which is cheaper, shipped faster and comes with more features than the ExoGun.

Exogun DreamPro review

What is the ExoGun DreamPro?

The ExoGun DreamPro packs a powerful 3,200 max RPM and has 6 speed settings.  It comes with 4 massage heads, a 3 hour battery life, a low noise motor and carry case.  Weighing about 2.5lb, the ExoGun is relatively lightweight.

Perhaps the key feature of the ExoGun DreamPro is the price: at only $199 it's about half the price of the HyperVolt and the Theragun, but has the same RPM, attachments, battery life, etc.

Here's a comparison table of some popular massage guns.

The ExoGun DreamPro is a good percussive massage device, but it has some flaws too.  Perhaps the biggest problem is the very slow delivery - the ExoGun site says shipping takes 30 days in the US.

This is what it says on the official ExoGun site:

But with sales now on this is a good time to get a bargain - and you don't have to wait a month for it to arrive: there are some equally impressive ExoGun alternatives.

The Top Alternatives

Of course, the market leaders are the Theragun and HyperVolt, but both are significantly more expensive than the ExoGun at over $350.

These are both excellent devices - the only problem is the high price tag, which is why cheaper but similar alternatives like the ExoGun are popular.

There are other good massage devices in the same price range as the ExoGun though - massage guns that have the same power and features, but faster delivery.

For example, the Opove M3 is also $199, but it's usually delivered within a week.  Unfortunately though it has fewer speed settings (only 3), an older interface (no LCD screen) and half the stall force at 30lb compared to the ExoGun's 60lb.

Then there's the AlphaGun V6, which is currently reduced from $249 to $149 ($100 off), making it $50 cheaper than the ExoGun DreamPro.

AlphaGun V6 vs Exogun DreamPro

The AlphaGun comes with all the key features of the ExoGun DreamPro: they are both low noise, have strong outer casing and 3+ hour lithium-ion batteries.

But the AlphaGun has three key advantages over the ExoGun: it's cheaper, more comes with more features and faster delivery:

1. The AlphaGun is currently on sale* - reduced from $249 to $149. The ExoGun DreamPro is $199 - $50 more expensive.

2. The AlphaGun has 30 speeds compared to the ExoGun's 6 speeds, which makes it more customizable - lower speeds are especially good for very sore muscles.

3. The AlphaGun has 6 massage heads compared to the ExoGun's 4 heads, so it can give a more tailored massage.

4. The AlphaGun is usually delivered within 5-7 days while the ExoGun DreamPro can take a month even in the US. You won't have to wait as long to start using the AlphaGun.

That's $50 cheaper, with the same RPM, but more speeds, more massage heads and faster delivery.

The only difference is that the AlphaGun V6 has a 45lb stall force and the ExoGun has 60lb.  This does not make much of a difference though - even the market leading HyperVolt has less than 50lb stall force, so it's not essential to go any higher.

Find out more about the AlphaGun here, or see the whole range here.

Both have a 30 day money back guarantee and a 1 year warranty.

Four key reasons to try the AlphaGun instead:

1. It's $50 cheaper at $149 compared to $199

2. The AlphaGun is shipped much faster

3. The AlphaGun has many more speed settings - 30 instead of 6

4. The AlphaGun comes with more massage heads - 6 instead of 4
